Star wars i nordiska snön

We finally had a rainy day and I took the opportunity to fix up a flea market find that I have been wanting to do something for quite a while. I had two of these paintings, both pretty lousy and with murky gloomy colours and first I thought about painting them all over, frame and all, but then I had another idea (I can always paint them over later) and glued some glitter to one of the paintings plus a picture from a comic book. The other painting got its makeover now. The painting shows a typical Nordic winter landscape with some tracks in the snow, so what better thing to leave such tracks than an AT-AT walker?

It will be fun to see what the kids think of it! They’re not as big fans as I was when I was little (if my memory serves me, which it more often than not doesn’t!), but they love playing Lego Star Wars with their Mom, so they should be able to identify that new creature in the painting. On the other hand, I change things here at home so regularly so they are pretty used to the phenomenon already and probably think it is the same way in all families and all homes.  It’s a good thing I have you, dear Reader, to show all my stuff to to get some feedback – it is somewhat lacking here at home at times I feel! And also somehow nice that my kids take all these things for granted – I hope they all grow up feeling like they don’t have to limit themselves to what other people are thinking, but try and really be themselves and express themselves in all that they do.
