Kirsty Mitchell’s Wonderland

Niklas and I were fortunate to get to visit the Kirsty Mitchell exhibition at Fotografiska in Stockholm.

I’ve been following Kirsty Mitchell on Facebook and Instagram for several years now, and it was such a treat to get to see her photos in person!

It was such an amazing exhibition, which really made an impact!

The behind the scenes photos and videos were really interesting!

Kirsty started the photography series after her mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness. She dealt with her grieving process through the making of the pictures, and the sincerity definitely shows.

Every photo is exquisite. But always with a hint of something tragic.

Also of hope, of beauty, and love.

It was really fun to also get to see some of the props in person

”Wonderland” is showing in Stockholm until the of March. After that it will be the opening act for Fotografiska London, and then New York, if I remember it correctly.

It is such a beautiful layered show. We saw many families who attended the exhibition with small children just enjoying the loveliness of the pictures. People experiencing grief or all sorts of dark emotions will see something other in the pictures. It is definitely worth a visit!
